Hi all, new to posting here but long time reader and SW aquarium enthusiast. Telescope Eye goldfish are easy to raise because of their calm and peaceful temperament. Starter Collection: The upick fishes are our starter fishes - the baby goldfishes that still have plenty room for growing. They are slower than other goldfish varieties when it comes to swimming. Their head, body, and color just started to develop and with full potentials to grow more. Groom & Grow: This is an opportunity for you to groom. Recently I bought the fancy telescope above from an OLS, in their defense, before they sent him they said he seemed to develop a “swimming issue” and sent me a video that the screencap is from above. They offered a credit or another guy instead but told me he would “just go back to the warehouse” which i took to mean they’d let him die. So, I didn’t have the heart to let the little guy have that fate without at least trying to help him out. He’s in a tank with 1 other fancy gf, 30gallon the params are pretty spotless 0 ammonia, <10pm nitrate so i don’t think his new home will be an issue for now, especially since he arrrived with the problem. Being a long time saltwater keeper, i understand chemistry and biology of tanks, but i’m new to goldfish.įrom what I’ve been reading my thoughts were to maybe feed him peas for a couple of days? Perhaps a daily epsom salt bath once he settles in a couple days and then just feed the repashy gel food going forward? I have treated the tank w/GC and PraziP in case parasites are issue but from what i’ve ready SBD usually is something else. In any case, has anyone else been able to nurse a butterfly back from vertical to horizontal swimming? He’s not vertical all the time, I’d say maybe less than 50% so I was hoping I caught it in a time where if i took some actionable steps he could recover. Any tips, recommendations, or past experiences would be greatly appreciated.
